HONG KONG LOVING

Warning: A long entry

Hellooooo. I'm back! :) All the days in HK. I LIKE! I was like lugging three huge bags back from the airport. And mummy had two. Everyday was rushed, i barely had any resting time. Haha. It was seriously wake up, breakfast, shopping, shopping, lunch, shopping, shopping, dinner, shopping and shopping. Everynight when we get back to the hotel, we all died on the bed.

First day
8am flight from Singapore, reached Hong Kong at around 1130am. Then all the admin stuff took ages and plus the travelling time, we reached our Hotel at about 3. Checked in, changed and left to check out the street next to our Hotel, Dorsett Seaview Hotel.

Went to the first store and i was already tempted to buy alot of stuff! Heh. Walked on a bit and we went to this Hong Kong cafe to have lunch. I forgot to take note of the name of the cafe :( But the food was DAMN NICE.

After lunch, we walked over to nu ren jie. Absolutely love that place :) 3 main streets, nu ren jie, nan ren jie and shao nian jie. Then it splits into many many mini streets. There's simply too many things to see, i think i can shop till i go crazy. And by 7, the streets were like packed with youngsters. AND THEY ARE ALL SO DAMMIT GOOD LOOKING.8 out of 10 HK guys are good looking. Almost all have good dress sense and almost nobody has unstyled hair. And 9 out of 10 girls have super good complexion. And almost all of them have basic make up on. And they make the street so nice to look at. I think Singapore people should start dressing up more! Comparatively, Singaporeans look so horribly sloppy and unkempt.

Dinner was at some porridge place ( i din't take note of the name again :( ) Their fried doughstick wrapped in chee cheong fun...HK food just taste so dammit good.

After dinner, we went back to the hotel to dump all our stuff then cabbed down to xing guang da dao. You know, the place with all the artistes' hand prints on the ground. That day, they were having some memorial for Lesie Cheung and people had candles and wishes for him. Then there was this huge Bruce Lee statue that mummy got excited over.

When we got back, there were night stalls set up at temple street. But temple street's not safe. Known to have a lot of drug dealers there. We went a while anyway. And the bangles, fucking cheap. I only bought three :( And i'm, still saddened by it :(

Second day
We joined a city tour. They brought us to Elizabeth House for breakfast at 8am. Hong Kong dimsum, what else can i say :)

After breakfast, we went to Repulse Bay. The place where all the loaded people are. We also went to this temple, where there was this huge guan ying pu sa, the god of wealth- said that when you touch him from head to toe, then put your hands into your pocket, you'll be wealthy. Haha. Then there was also this longevity bridge- said that when you walk across it once, your life will be prolonged for 3 years. So me, running here and there to take pictures, crossed it three times, meaning, i have prolonged my life for 9 years! Hah. Oh, there was this huge fish statue also, i dunno what it represents, but it is said to make your wish come true if you manage to throw a coin into its opened mouth. So after a few attempts, i threw it in. But i was too engrossed aiming, i forgot to make a wish.

After that we went to Victoria Peak. Said to be a feng shui place. It cannot be reconstructed and nothing can be build on it because it brings the country money. Not a believer of feng shui but i must say, that place gives me a damn good view of the city and its pretty.

Went to Causeway bay after that. Causeway bay's like the orchard road of Hong Kong. And probably the only place with trees by the roadside. At causeway bay, we went to the HKJ main outlet. Mummy makes such a good prey to sales people. And Hong Kong people are damn good at pushing sales. So she bought this pendent in the shape of a windmill. But it's said to bring good luck to the whole family when worn.

And and, we went for a boat ride and that's when i met Bobby! :) Bobby's absolutely cute i tell you. I sat next to him and he jumped on my lap. And i did something dumb, i spoke cantonese to it. Because i suppose, HK dogs only understand cantonese?

Isn't he the cutest :)

Lunch was at Victoria Mall. Did i ever mention how much i love Hong Kong food? That's because they don't put chilli in their food! Dammit delicious :)

After lunch, we went to Kowloon to take the ferry for our trip to Macau :) Weather was good, so it wasn't a bumpy ride. Macau. wow. Beautiful place. They just built the sai mun bridge and it's super pretty. Checked in to Hotel Taipa Square. We walked quite a distance to this small town where they sell all their confectionery. We bought almond biscuits and lao po bing :)

That's only a quarter of sai mun bridge.

Dinner was at a portugese restaurant. 5 dishes, one minestrone soup plus red wine. Heaven. After dinner, we strolled back to our hotel. Cool sea breeze plus peaceful environment. Absolutely relaxing :)

After chucking the biscuits back to our rooms, we cabbed to the new casino. I think there's a total of four now i think. Anyway, the casino, super nice. And the casino staff (i mean the card dealers). Every single one of them is good looking. Good looking as in handsome good looking and not just pleasant looking good looking. Haha, what can i say, i love Macau. Oh, and i absolutely suck at jackpot.

Third day
Woke up early for breakfast because we were planning to catch the early ferry to head back to Hong Kong then to Shen Zhen. We settled for breakfast at the hotel. Still good :)

Bad thing was, it started raining, so the ride back was like a mini roller coaster ride. Waves were big and my stomach juices were churning and churning. Poor mummy puked. At Hong Kong ferry terminal, there was Sasa! I was a happy girl there because i bought alot :)

Cabbed back to Dorsett seaview Hotel, checked in, dumped stuff and cabbed to Hong Hom train station. Hong Kong's MTR lines are crazy. There's so many of them. Anyway, we took the train to the last stop, Lo wu. We're in China already :)

I have to say, that place stinked, literally. Their hygiene's really bad. We wanted to shop along the street, but figured that the security wasn't that good, so we went to this six storey shopping center. We had dinner at their popular restaurant, Zhu Ding Xuan. Their peking duck is like..super duper tasty.

We've only got up to 1030 to catch the last train back to Hong Kong . So we were like shopping at a crazy speed. Indecisiveness not tolerated! Haha. When i was choosing between two tops, mummy got impatient. Said "No time already, just buy both" the feeling of you-like-you-buy. Swell :)

So by 10, we were super tired, lugging bags of clothes, shoes and bags. Took the train back to Hong Kong. Weather reports said it was san hao feng yu. Like a mini thunderstorm. And school was cancelled in the afternoon. But we were indoors so we didn't know. There were even floods in certain areas. Ya, because of this tai feng thing, i can't go back to buy my bangles :(

Last day
If you think 6 storeys of shopping was crazy enough. The last day was even crazier. Check out time- 12:00pm. Flight- 8:00pm, meaning we gotta be on the road by 5:00.

Breakfast was at the restaurant at temple street. Dim sum again. I had lean meat century egg porridge too. Need i say more. After breakfast, we checked out, left the luggage with the hotel people and cabbed to shan shui po. Streets after streets after streets of clothes. Supersonic shopping pace. No trying of anything. Just pick, pay, next shop. But Shan Shui Po's not very safe either. Well known for pick pockets. So we were damn cautious it became rather uncomfortable. Along the way, we stopped to have mango sago and mummy had steamed egg dessert. Tastes super good!

4:30 we cabbed back to hotel, had to pull out the extra bag we brought to contain all our buys. By 5, we died on the bus bringing us to the airport. We had to pick up another 3 people who stayed at the disney hotel! That hotel's super cute. The windows and trees all have mickey shapes. Heh.

Flight back to Singapore. I didn't want to leave the place :( I love the weather, the food, the people, the clothes, the everything! When you're having fun, time passes damn fast and it's really true :(

On the way home :(
