The lazies and phonies
Watched pulse today. Read about it and thought it sounded a little like final destination. You know, how people die after one another. But nope, wasn't the least like final destination. But it was scary shit. I think pulse's more like white noise.
Anyway, we were walking out of cine to the cross junction. There's this tissue seller i'm sure people who go to town often will know. She as usual was selling tissue packets for a dollar (or two i can't remember) I never thought much about that and occassionally i do buy from her.
UNTIL.
I heard that she takes a cab home after that.
Take cab nevermind. Chikin told me he saw her smoking in one of the telephone booths at the junction. So we are like donating to her ciggs and comfort transport or something?
Then i've heard of the phony underground buskers.
(Ok, actually i don't know if busker is used in the right context here. But for now, let's assume they are called buskers too)My friend was walking along or waiting for another friend i can't remember. And he was noticing this busker playing the keyboard and singing along. Then there was this donation box in front of him, just like all the others. So there he was playing and singing. Then halfway, he got thirsty, stopped playing, pulled out his bottle and drank while the music played on!
PHONY! Not the worse yet.
Few years back, i was walking along the underpass of lucky plaza. There was this boy about 13 years old. He was sitting down, a piece of A4 white paper with the words
"Need money, please help" Then on the paper itself, was his student pass as well. He looked perfectly fine. Limbs intact and disease free. If he really needed money, he could have gone to work for it instead of sitting around collecting coins.
Respect needs to be earned and i think it applies here as well!

Customer IS NOT king.
I don't get what's with the people nowadays. They don't turn up for work just because they don't feel like it. Or they quit as and when they like. No contracts, no nothing, but where's the sense of responsibility? Puzzles me really.
Anyway, my experience in retail has taught me quite a bit.
Let's see. It has taught me to speak with tact. It has taught me to be plastic and it has taught me patience.
Picture this.
Customer walks into the store picks up a skirt, looks at me and loudly exclaims,
"Is this a skirt??" And i have to try match her enthusiasm and loudly exclaim,
"YUP IT IS!"
And then proceed to shine her the million dollar smile so i can coax her into the fitting room. Then when she is in the fitting room, i'll be muttering to myself what a dumb ass she is.
Or on days like this.
Mother and daughter walks into the store.
Me: "These come in many other colors, not all are displayed"Daughter: "Oh okay thanks"Colleague: (Didn't hear what i said) "We've got other colors for these"Daughter: "Really! ok thanks!"After browsing for a while they turned to us.
Daughter: "Are these the only colors you have?"Both me and colleague: *smiles* "Nope, there's still alot inside"Mother: "OH, you mean you are left with these three colours?"Can someone feel my pain?
Dumb customers i can tolerate. Rude ones, i absolutely hate.
Customer walks in.
Me: "Hello"Customer: ignores. ( I would consider a
smile, a look or even a
slight nod to be acknowledgement. But hell no, these rude customers don't bloody even look up or respond)
Me: "If you like something, you can give it a try"Customer: ignores again
HELLO. I have a choice whether to greet you or not. And i chose to because i am working and it is part of my job to do so. And you bloody customers should have the basic courtesy to acknowledge that.
I usually attempt for the third time. And if i get ignored again. That's it.
I think i've mastered the skill pretty well now. I can look at a stubborn customer, force out an almost genuine smile, patiently explaining to her for the zillionth time, cursing and swearing in my heart and under my breath saying
fuck you.
All at the same time!

I'm loving the hols
Yesterday at 3am, michie made online bookings for devil wears prada.
I know we are damn late.
But yays, we finally get to watch that show.
Great show! But i prefer the book though :)
Walked around a bit after the show before michie went to meet her friends and i went to meet chikin.
Met chikin. The not ah beng but dress like ah beng one.
We played pool and i got trashed as expected.
Oh, and we met adriano AGAIN. Why do i always see him around?
Dinner was at crystal jade. La mian! i likeee :)
Caught my second movie of the day- The Host.
It was crappy, scary sometimes, funny at times and sad at some parts.
After the show, walked to ps.
Bought heineken and sat by the stairs as we laughed over how we used to be.
Talked about alot of stuff and realised how things have changed and also, how some hasn't.
Surprising huh, this friendship that started out from a mini fight.
Haha. Those were the days.

Dinner at the HK cafe with michie michie babe :)
After coming back from Hong Kong, i definitely definitely miss HK food! So going to HK cafe absolutely makes me very very happy!
Well, just the usual catching up but it was great :) And some random
guy uncle offered to buy us po lo bao because we gave him our extra table. Said no of course.
Oh, we also met the pavillion pool person, and john's friend.
Stayed till a little after midnight, and thanks to a ride home by a very nice amran.
Then left the two lovebirds to celebrate michie's birthday :)
Perfect place with perfect company :)
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE! LOVES :)

Cosy cosy bay
Did i ever mention how much i love cosybay? Hah.
Dinner at cosybay with the kiddo today :)
We climbed all the way up to the tower for a nice view today.
Hell, the climb was extremely tiring, but it was all worth it. Very very pretty :)
Kiddo had fish and chips with erdinger light and i had grilled chicken with bourbon coke.
What can i say.
Cosybay makes me such a happy girl :)
Oh, and i got my hair coloured (again) today. Totally not the colour i wanted! But well, will make do with it until i've thought of what to do with it.
Pig and oliver's sick. Get well soon you two! Because i'm looking very very forward to stonegrill :)

Fuckoff. I hate you and you know that.
So your new song isn't that new after all. I bet you're secretly praying no one ever finds out. But sorry, for the past few sleepless nights, i was digging up old CDs i burned many years back and hah, i found that particular old song. Nice cover up you had there. Perhaps you think that we're dumb enough not to realise its the bloody same song except for the fact that you changed the lyrics and the chorus. Or perhaps you knew there's simply nothing we can do to you. Well. You never fail to impress us with the things you do. I sincerely wish you good luck here.

HONG KONG LOVING
Warning: A long entryHellooooo. I'm back! :) All the days in HK. I LIKE! I was like lugging three huge bags back from the airport. And mummy had two. Everyday was rushed, i barely had any resting time. Haha. It was seriously wake up, breakfast, shopping, shopping, lunch, shopping, shopping, dinner, shopping and shopping. Everynight when we get back to the hotel, we all died on the bed.
First day
8am flight from Singapore, reached Hong Kong at around 1130am. Then all the admin stuff took ages and plus the travelling time, we reached our Hotel at about 3. Checked in, changed and left to check out the street next to our Hotel,
Dorsett Seaview Hotel.
Went to the first store and i was already tempted to buy alot of stuff! Heh. Walked on a bit and we went to this Hong Kong cafe to have lunch. I forgot to take note of the name of the cafe :( But the food was
DAMN NICE.
After lunch, we walked over to
nu ren jie. Absolutely love that place :) 3 main streets,
nu ren jie, nan ren jie and shao nian jie. Then it splits into many many mini streets. There's simply too many things to see, i think i can shop till i go crazy. And by 7, the streets were like packed with youngsters. AND THEY ARE ALL SO DAMMIT GOOD LOOKING.8 out of 10 HK guys are good looking. Almost all have good dress sense and almost
nobody has unstyled hair. And 9 out of 10 girls have super good complexion. And almost all of them have basic make up on. And they make the street so nice to look at. I think Singapore people should start dressing up more! Comparatively, Singaporeans look so horribly sloppy and unkempt.
Hong Kong Street at night
Dinner was at some porridge place ( i din't take note of the name again :( ) Their fried doughstick wrapped in chee cheong fun...HK food just taste so dammit good.
After dinner, we went back to the hotel to dump all our stuff then cabbed down to
xing guang da dao. You know, the place with all the artistes' hand prints on the ground. That day, they were having some memorial for Lesie Cheung and people had candles and wishes for him. Then there was this huge Bruce Lee statue that mummy got excited over.
At Xing Guang Da Dao
When we got back, there were night stalls set up at temple street. But temple street's not safe. Known to have a lot of drug dealers there. We went a while anyway. And the bangles, fucking cheap. I only bought three :( And i'm, still saddened by it :(
Second dayWe joined a city tour. They brought us to
Elizabeth House for breakfast
at 8am
. Hong Kong dimsum, what else can i say :)
After breakfast, we went to
Repulse Bay. The place where all the loaded people are. We also went to this temple, where there was this huge guan ying pu sa, the god of wealth- said that when you touch him from head to toe, then put your hands into your pocket, you'll be wealthy. Haha. Then there was also this longevity bridge- said that when you walk across it once, your life will be prolonged for 3 years. So me, running here and there to take pictures, crossed it three times, meaning, i have prolonged my life for 9 years! Hah. Oh, there was this huge fish statue also, i dunno what it represents, but it is said to make your wish come true if you manage to throw a coin into its opened mouth. So after a few attempts, i threw it in. But i was too engrossed aiming, i forgot to make a wish.
Repulse Bay :)
After that we went to
Victoria Peak. Said to be a feng shui place. It cannot be reconstructed and nothing can be build on it because it brings the country money. Not a believer of feng shui but i must say, that place gives me a damn good view of the city and its pretty.
Pretty scenery at Victoria Peak
Went to
Causeway bay after that. Causeway bay's like the orchard road of Hong Kong. And probably the only place with trees by the roadside. At causeway bay, we went to the HKJ main outlet. Mummy makes such a good prey to sales people. And Hong Kong people are damn good at pushing sales. So she bought this pendent in the shape of a windmill. But it's said to bring good luck to the whole family when worn.
And and, we went for a boat ride and that's when i met Bobby! :) Bobby's absolutely cute i tell you. I sat next to him and he jumped on my lap. And i did something dumb, i spoke cantonese to it. Because i suppose, HK dogs only understand cantonese?
Isn't he the cutest :)
Lunch was at
Victoria Mall. Did i ever mention how much i love Hong Kong food? That's because they don't put chilli in their food! Dammit delicious :)
After lunch, we went to
Kowloon to take the ferry for our trip to
Macau :) Weather was good, so it wasn't a bumpy ride. Macau. wow. Beautiful place. They just built the
sai mun bridge and it's super pretty. Checked in to
Hotel Taipa Square. We walked quite a distance to this small town where they sell all their confectionery. We bought almond biscuits and
lao po bing :)
That's only a quarter of sai mun bridge.
Dinner was at a portugese restaurant. 5 dishes, one minestrone soup plus red wine. Heaven. After dinner, we strolled back to our hotel. Cool sea breeze plus peaceful environment. Absolutely relaxing :)
After chucking the biscuits back to our rooms, we cabbed to the new casino. I think there's a total of four now i think. Anyway, the casino, super nice. And the casino staff (i mean the card dealers).
Every single one of them is good looking. Good looking as in handsome good looking and not just pleasant looking good looking. Haha, what can i say, i love Macau. Oh, and i absolutely suck at jackpot.
Third dayWoke up early for breakfast because we were planning to catch the early ferry to head back to Hong Kong then to
Shen Zhen. We settled for breakfast at the hotel. Still good :)
Bad thing was, it started raining, so the ride back was like a mini roller coaster ride. Waves were big and my stomach juices were churning and churning. Poor mummy puked. At Hong Kong ferry terminal, there was Sasa! I was a happy girl there because i bought alot :)
Cabbed back to Dorsett seaview Hotel, checked in, dumped stuff and cabbed to Hong Hom train station. Hong Kong's MTR lines are crazy. There's so many of them. Anyway, we took the train to the last stop, Lo wu. We're in China already :)
MTR ride
I have to say, that place stinked, literally. Their hygiene's really bad. We wanted to shop along the street, but figured that the security wasn't that good, so we went to this six storey shopping center. We had dinner at their popular restaurant,
Zhu Ding Xuan. Their peking duck is like..super duper tasty.
We've only got up to 1030 to catch the last train back to Hong Kong . So we were like shopping at a crazy speed. Indecisiveness not tolerated! Haha. When i was choosing between two tops, mummy got impatient. Said "No time already, just buy both" the feeling of you-like-you-buy. Swell :)
So by 10, we were super tired, lugging bags of clothes, shoes and bags. Took the train back to Hong Kong. Weather reports said it was
san hao feng yu. Like a mini thunderstorm. And school was cancelled in the afternoon. But we were indoors so we didn't know. There were even floods in certain areas. Ya, because of this tai feng thing, i can't go back to buy my bangles :(
Last dayIf you think 6 storeys of shopping was crazy enough. The last day was even crazier. Check out time- 12:00pm. Flight- 8:00pm, meaning we gotta be on the road by 5:00.
Breakfast was at the restaurant at temple street. Dim sum again. I had lean meat century egg porridge too. Need i say more. After breakfast, we checked out, left the luggage with the hotel people and cabbed to shan shui po. Streets after streets after streets of clothes. Supersonic shopping pace. No trying of anything. Just pick, pay, next shop. But Shan Shui Po's not very safe either. Well known for pick pockets. So we were damn cautious it became rather uncomfortable. Along the way, we stopped to have mango sago and mummy had steamed egg dessert. Tastes super good!
4:30 we cabbed back to hotel, had to pull out the extra bag we brought to contain all our buys. By 5, we died on the bus bringing us to the airport. We had to pick up another 3 people who stayed at the disney hotel! That hotel's super cute. The windows and trees all have mickey shapes. Heh.
Flight back to Singapore. I didn't want to leave the place :( I love the weather, the food, the people, the clothes, the everything! When you're having fun, time passes damn fast and it's really true :(
On the way home :(

Alright now, the things i bought....
Still many many things i left out!But no worries. I'll be there again next year :)

Everything's unplanned
I went back to TK again. Today, for the sake of accompanying a friend. Well, no over whelming feelings this time of course. But still, i kind of miss wearing a school uniform.
So they were setting up the tables and chairs for O levels today. Os- The big thing at that time. But as compared to prelims this coming Monday, Os seem to be pretty easy at that time then. If i would have stayed on, or rather like what hazel said-
hanged on, things would be pretty much different now. A totally different group of friends, i'll still be stuck with maths, chemistry and economics, or who knows, i may have been a uni freshie by now.
Well, resolution- not to regret any decisions made. Marketing isn't bad at all. If i take away the project rush, deadlines and expensive school fees. I am kind of enjoying what i am doing.
I see friends around me-the same people who i played and laughed and talked nonsense with back then. They're all doing different stuff now. Some are in universities, some in NS, some in poly, some working, some loafing around, some overseas, and even some married! Me, one more year to go. I'm kind of stuck, not exactly knowing what i want to do
yet. University's on the list of course. The never ending cycle of studying. Bahh, just the thought..
A month plus more of holidays.
I'm going to fly off on Monday. I feel nothing actually. Maybe i'll only feel the excitement on sunday night (which i will be working,
crap)
You know sometimes, the more you hope for something to happen, the more it won't happen. It's just like how when we're looking for something and we can't seem to find it. Then the moment we stop looking for it, it surfaces. So, the more we hope for it to happen, the more it won't, and the more disappointed we get. And i still believe that good things happen at the weirdest time ever, when you least expect them to. So, i'm gonna stop expecting right now.
And i know- it's gonna be much harder than said, but i'll try.*We drank up the wine, and we got to talking. We now had more important things to say and when the car broke down, we started walking. Where were we to go, without even knowing the way...*
*...and actually i'm afraid, so afraid of slipping back to those days*

The yvonne-anger trigger
I
hate it when people ask me if they are the ones i am referring to in my blog, or in any conversation. I'm tired of explaining over and over again that my blog is based solely on my own thoughts and any resemblence in characters mentioned are simply coincidental unless you feel guilt, then it's probably you. And here, when i mention
you, i am referring to no particular you. So stop inferring.
And so, i figured out what my blog lacks-
A disclaimer. So there, proceed to read it on the left column.
And since i am already on my hate list, i might as well go on a little more.
I
hate people telling me to eat chilli. It is just like how some people hate
tow gei or tomato or tobasco or anything edible. I love tomato but i don't force people to like them. So why force me to like chilli. It doesn't mean that i don't like chilli means i'm dumb. It is just a personal preference.
I
hate being disturbed when i am concentrating on something. I hate having to reply to a sms/ talk on the phone when i am watching a movie/TV. I hate it when someone sits down and starts talking and talking when i am doing my work. Of course if it concerns anything important, then it doesn't apply.
I
hate egoistic people/MCPs. People who think they are the best. People who think nothing they say can ever be wrong. People who HAVE TO be right. People who never admits to their mistakes. People who are so full of themselves.
I
hate hate hate having to explain my every action. It is different from being responsible for one's own actions. But rather, sometimes, people do things just because they feel like it. We say things when the urge comes. We do things for a simple fact that we like it, we feel like it. Sometimes, there just isn't any specific reason to why we do and say some stuff. So this i especially get irritated at when someone comes questioning.
Anyway. I think i am getting angsty enough so i shall stop here.
And by the time you have read up till here, you probably would have forgotten.
So. Please read the damn
disclaimer again.

Plans to watch devil wears prada with edith killed.
Plans to meet mich for dinner killed.
Plans to meet hao for lunch killed.
So practically, this week's been shit.
Blah.
We've been in tune with luck. We've slept through it. Taking hits off the surface. It's too hard to swallow. The judgment is concentrating. On everything below. I've overheard it once. This has gone on before. It's still one in the same. We seem so far away from these things we used to know. We seem so far away from everything. Everyone who moves around me. They're saying somethings that make the fire glow. Savor something that no one needs to know. They all think its gold. All we are is golden. This won't mean a thing. All we know is golden. It won't mean a thing.
